Are You Afraid of Being Lonely?

You're not alone in that fear.

Solitude ≠ Loneliness

Practicing Solitude:

  1. Meditation -- even 5 minutes of attending to your own breath

  2. Take a walk. Try it without listening to something in your earbuds

  3. Make a date with yourself;

  4. Plan it. Don't make solitude the default for what happens when plans fall through.

  5. Take note of how you feel when you're alone. All of it is okay. Just notice. Be with anything that is there. Breathe.

In practicing solitude, you may make the best friend you’ve ever had: YOU.
