What clients are saying

I was on my 3rd episode of major burnout. Susan validated that I wasn’t crazy, or weak, or broken. She helped me reconnect with the parts of me that are my SUPERPOWERS (empathy, integration, connection-building, seeing through lines), that are devalued and undermined in a metric-driven, reductionist, myopic medical system. She has helped me reconnect with my sources of strength and renewal so I can continue to be of service.

She is thoughtful, asks deeply insightful questions, helps provide frameworks for internal transformation, and is passionate about what she does. With her help I am beginning to develop new, more productive habits. She has helped me identify my “saboteurs” and see them for what they are so that I can stop them from sidelining me.

I would recommend Susan to anyone in the medical field who has been and is being harmed by the moral injury we experience every day, who is either looking for healthy ways to stay in medicine, or is trying to figure out if, perhaps, you could be happier and more true to yourself elsewhere.

She is an asset to the field of coaching and to me.

It’s strangely comforting to know that so many of us who love, have to feel grief and loss as the other side of that; and that so much of humanity is experiencing that now. It seems to be an integral part of the human condition, yet something that I avoided for approximately four decades.

She has a method where she can take from that stress to a place where you find comfort.

"There were unintended benefits from working with Susan that directly helped my job."

“As an oncologist and medical acupuncturist, I have never seen a written piece (The Difficulty in Coming Home: What Doctors and Soldiers Have in Common) so cogently, compassionately, and clearly address not only the existential struggle of a physician but also by extension the family. I have to say it is the first time I’ve read anything by a non-physician and felt really seen. In fact, some of the insights you offer may have even escaped me. Truly a poignant commentary on the meta-existence of all of those who engage in healing particularly when life and death are on the line.”

“Susan is an amazing coach and instructor. She is engaging, thoughtful and intuitive. She uses her knowledge and abilities in her coaching, so that her clients don’t just learn. They feel it, see it and then make it their own. If you wish to explore your physical, soulful and emotional self more deeply, there is no better place, no better art and no better instructor/teacher/coach than Susan.”

— RONALD TARREL, DO, NEUROLOGIST, ABBOTT NORTHWESTERN HOSPITAL

“I am a coach, and if I was picking a coach for myself, it would be Susan. I had the opportunity to observe Susan coaching a client in front of a large Zoom audience for continuing education. Susan’s open-hearted engagement with the client was so solid. Her impact was felt beyond the client to the audience. She’s direct, relaxed, confident, wise. It was a joy to see! If Susan is your coach you won’t be disappointed!”

“I’m fortunate to have experienced Susan’s coaching. She’s warm, supportive, and authentic. She holds space for me to process my ideas. Her calming presence champions me to build more self-courage. I feel less stuck and I have been practicing what she coaches me — leading from my heart.”

“For so long, especially in medicine, we feel like we have to suppress our true feelings and frustrations…because we have a job to get done. Our patients need us to be at our best, and they deserve that. So for me, to have you in my life to be able to share with and to speak with so openly, to be vulnerable and real (instead of the false bravado I show at work) — it has honestly been life changing for me, Susan.”
