Unearth the meaning. Reclaim your voice. Find the way to a more authentic life.
What if the story you’ve been telling holds the key to who you’re becoming? And what if you could rewrite it?
Our life stories are the living maps of our lives. When you reclaim authorship of your story, you can change your past—and reclaim the power to live with clarity, truth, and direction. In a world that’s constantly shifting, it’s easy to lose sight of who you are and why you’re here. Your personal story can become blurred by survival, shaped by old narratives, or buried beneath roles you've outgrown.
Welcome!
The Way Home: Reclaiming Your Story Through Myth and Archetypes: a 12-session, year-long, in-person workshop in Minnesota, designed to help you uncover, reshape, and reclaim your personal story through the timeless frameworks of myth, archetype, and embodied self-inquiry.
Rooted in Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, inspired by Carl Jung’s archetypes, and grounded in the teachings of my book Prioritize Your Self-Care: Reclaiming Your Path to an Extraordinary Life, this experience is more than a workshop—it’s a guided return to your most essential self.
This is not a lecture series. Because it takes place in an intimate, connected setting, the experience is deeply experiential.
We don’t transform through intellect alone—we transform through the full, multidimensional intelligence of the body, mind, imagination, and nervous system.
Meet Your Guide: Susan Hart Gaines
I’m a life and leadership coach, author, and teacher—a teller and alchemist of story.
I believe the stories we carry shape how we see ourselves, how we show up, and how we live.
And I believe we can change those stories—with curiosity, compassion, and courage.
My work blends Narrative Identity Theory, depth psychology, and archetypal frameworks to help people reclaim authorship of their lives. In The Way Home, I create a space for deep inquiry, embodied practice, and meaningful community—where story becomes a tool for truth, direction, and transformation.
This is not a lecture series or performance-based course.
This is intimate, experiential work.
We don’t transform through intellect alone—we transform through the full intelligence of the body, the nervous system, the imagination, and the heart.

Who This Is For
The Way Home is for anyone feeling the quiet but persistent call to examine the story they’ve been living—and begin telling a truer one.
You might be:
In a season of transition—career, relationship, identity, or life stage
Feeling disconnected from your voice, purpose, or sense of direction
A helper, leader, or creative ready to move from performance to authenticity
A seeker who resonates with myth, archetype, and story as deeper life maps
Holding a story that’s never fully been told—even to yourself—and ready to face it with care
Someone who’s done personal work before, but longs for something more integrative and embodied
You don’t need to be a writer—just willing to be honest, curious, and human.
Who This Is Not For
This work requires presence, gentleness, and a willingness to engage—not perfectly, but honestly. This is a deep, reflective, and embodied process. It may not be a fit if you are:
Seeking a quick fix, high-efficiency outcome, or traditional writing class
Unwilling to engage your story with nuance and honesty
Needing immediate clinical or crisis-level support
Looking for a passive or purely intellectual learning environment.
